Tenure Track Positions

Post-Doctoral Positions

 

The Department of Mathematics of Bar-Ilan University invites applications from outstanding candidates for tenure-track and post-doctoral positions, for appointments starting in the academic year 2017/2018 (appointment starting October 1st, 2017).

The Department of Mathematics is a leading center of mathematical research, with two research institutes, active seminars in a number of sub-disciplines (algebra, analysis, applied mathematics, combinatorics, geometry and topology, probability etc.), international conferences, and inspiring faculty / post-doc / graduate student communication.

 

Tenure Track Positions

 

Successful tenure-track candidates are expected to conduct independent and original research
at the highest academic level, to demonstrate academic leadership, to apply for Israeli and international research grants, and to cooperate with other researchers within as well as outside of the department.

Responsibilities for a tenure-track position include teaching both required and elective courses in the field of specialization and in related disciplines, in the Department of Mathematics and in other departments in the university.
The language of instruction is Hebrew.

  2. List of publications
  3. Research Statement or Research Program (2-3 pages, references excluded)
  4. Teaching evaluations (if readily available)
  5. 2 representative publications (if co-authored, please briefly indicate in the cover letter your role in each paper)
  6. Names, affiliations and email addresses of 5 referees who have agreed to evaluate the candidate's qualifications (we will ask for the letters)

Candidates should apply, preferably by email and as early as possible. The deadline is November 3rd, 2016, but it would be wise to apply beforehand.

Finalists may be requested to deliver a lecture on the subject of their research.
Rank will be determined according to the candidate's qualifications.
 

Post-Doctoral Positions

 

  • Post-doctoral positions do not require teaching.

Candidates should contact in advance a potential host/advisor in the department, and apply through this host by January 15th, 2017.
