Abstract: We study surfaces arising in the scaling limits of random tiling models, in particular the random “lozenge” tiling model and its more difficult cousins, the 5- and 6-vertex models. Under certain conditions we can solve the underlying variational problem and find explicit solution surfaces parameterized by analytic functions (a version of “Darboux integrability”). This is joint work with Istvan Prause.   המחלקה למתמטיקה mathoffice@math.biu.ac.il Asia/Jerusalem public
