Modules for the Harish-Chandra pair of a reductive Lie group play a central role in its representation theory. Algebraic families of Harish-Chandra pairs allow one to relate different Lie groups and their representation theories. In many applications the relevant families are extensions of constant families. In this talk, after reviewing the needed background, I’ll present the classification of extensions of constant families of Harish-Chandra pairs in the case of SL(2,R). Abstract

A Harish-Chandra pair of a real reductive Lie group is a certain algebraic counterpart of the group. Modules for the Harish-Chandra pair of a reductive Lie group play a central role in its representation theory.
Algebraic families of Harish-Chandra pairs allow one to relate different Lie groups and their representation theories. In many applications the relevant families are extensions of constant families.
